I have developed a tremor due to a neck injury. The FZ20 stabilization system and size sure help ( I had to return a Canon A95 - too small, light, and no IS).
I used to have a gadget that would help more if I could find one. It was a swivel that screwed into the tripod hole and I could tie a cord through it, drop the end on the ground, stand on it, pull up and tension it for a poor man's monopod. I have heard that a 1/4" bolt fits, but it must have some arrangement like a swivel loop to tie the cord through. I also had a wrist strap that screwed into the tripod hole that could be modified with a cord for the same purpose. Does anyone know of a source for either of these? Mine both disappeared about 15 years ago. That arrangement was handy, easy to carry around, and worked great for steadying up without support. Thanks! |

You may want to check out this website:
http://www.kirkphoto.com/accessories.html They may have a "strap pod" that will suit your needs. |

And for the poor mans tripod a 1/4" eyebolt and a piece of cord work pretty well |
