I have to echo what everyone else said, those are great shots Jim. On the moon shot you said 4X digital, was that 12X zoom plus 4X digital and was it hand held? That's one of the best moon shots I've seen.

Thanks for the comments Ted ! Yes the moon shot was 12x plus the 4x digital for a total of 48x and it was hand held. I took about 4 shots and that one turned out the best. I think it was because of the long shadows on the moon bringing out the detail in the craters that made the shot look good. Jim

Thanks Mtngal ! I've found a few things that I can use the digital zoom on, like the moon, where it works out well, but the marjority of the time I just leave it turned off ! Jim

Blue Wax, Thanks for the comments! Also I hope your not holding off on getting the FZ30 because of the notorious "noise" problem ! I have taken over 7000 pictures with mine and I have to say that noise has not been any problem! I've just recently started experimenting with night shots where I felt nosie would be an issue, but again I've not found it a problem. If I had it to do over again I would make the ame purchase! I had the FZ20 before the FZ30 and the 30 doesn't have any more noise than the 20 did ! Your missing out on a very capable, fun and impressive camera! Jim
