You seem to be getting along fine with the camera.

Learning fast - including how to upload photos for viewing in this forum!
However, one thing is puzzling me. I don't have Photoshop, and I can't remember whether I used Irfanview or Paint Shop Pro 7 for resizing down to 640 x 480 to upload to my post above. But the EXIF data has gone - not unusual when you resize I gather. I did notice that people who post pictures in this forum usually (or at least often) manage to retain their EXIF data, and I imagine they're all using Photoshop when resizing? Is this likely to be the case? I'm really looking for a free utility that will allow me to retain EXIF data on downsizing an image. I'm using WinMe, and curently have PSP7, Irfanview, FastStone and Panasonic's PhotoFUN Studio PSP as my photo viewers. I'd welcome your collective experiences. |

When you save a photo in Irfranview, a second box opens up next to the usual "save" box. Use this to select various options, such as quality, etc. You can select a box to keep the EXIF data. I leave this checked all the time. This will save your EXIF information through various copies of the image.

Thanks. This suggests I wasn't using Irfanview when I downsized and was almost certainly using PSP, where I'm fairly sure that, with v7, that option doesn't show.

What a cutie! Looks like your flash is doing a great job, too. I've used Photoshop fora long time and every time I try anything else now I get frustrated, so I stick with what works for me.

If all your doing is downsizing Picasa works really well and the images still look goodafter downsizing and itkeeps the exif data.
