the thing that astounds me about my projector is how amazing an HD signal looks. A DVD signal looks pretty good through component video cables, but, even though it is downscaling the HD signal to a native resolution, it is like night and day compared to a DVD or regular television. I love HD, its like watching a photograph, its amazing!

This looks like it could be a real contender against a 40 Inch LCD HD TV setup, I expect a decent 40 Inch LCD HDTV would cost around £1500, whereas the projector itself is only around £500? How much is the screen and accessories? Speakers etc, would this be worth considering over a normal LCD TV?

wel the projector is
sony vplvw12ht This was retailing for $10,000 NZD in its release day 2002 http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sony-VPL-VW12HT.htm http://www.homecinemachoice.com/cgi-...?reviewid=2829 Now in NZ klvv40 (top Bravia) is $6000 NZD currently klvs40 (Silver bravia) is $5000 NZD currently Screen Orion 120" 1.1Gain $600 NZD Amp Pioneer VSX607S $1300 NZD Speakers Mediocre Sonys to get job done until more money rolls in Around about $1000 NZD Subs Earthquake 15" Dual spider subs LS-15s Around $599 NZD each customer enclosure Media PC Hewlett Packard HP T760 Intervideo Win DVD with video Scaling VGA to BNC out with 1280*720P SPDIF output for ac3/dts yea the bravia klvv40 and klvs40 are nice tvs. fantastic image quality but i think its a different kinda thing to hd projectors. i think the klv series are nie tvs but so much money for so little picture i think. but thts me. i tink in the league of tvs tht would be up ther with the best of things. prob only the new pioneer 50" plasma would be in a position to take it on directly. Spec wise they are very similar. projector is 1366*768 res, 1000:1 contrast, pixel reaction rate is arnd 6ms. |
