They seem to like it. The only complaints seem to be things that were intentionally left off so the camera would not compete with other models. No manual modes, not enough control over settings. But it's designed that way so, no big deal. From the test images and what I have seen for people who own one already it looks like yet another winner from Panasonic! No surprise there.

Either this or the FX01 may find it's way to my home one of these days. Both much more portable and simpler for the family to use. Would be kind of nice to still have so much zoom power when traveling with the "little" camera.

I just got a TZ1 at Costco (YES! Infinite warranty!) So far, it rocks. At the same price, I see no reason why someone would choose one of the other models (FXnn) with the older image stabilization engine, less zoom, etc. I have seen nothing gained by those models - very very odd.

I just bought the TZ1 to join my FZ30 in mycamera bag. I love the size, simplicity, quality and workmanship of the TZ1. I was apprehensive of the "rocker switch" for the zoom. It worked smooth, there was no needfor back and forth movement to getproper zooming. I took pictures of flowers inside my house the same night I gotthe camera and came outfine.

Only one complaint, the built-inflashis too close to the hand grip and myindex fingercovered portion of the flash. Half of thepicture was dark. After my "thumb adjustment", (moved my thumb away from the flash) the pictures came out nice.

Hmm, can you confirm, that they just didn't lose a word on the ISO 800 (and ISO 1600)?
I would've liked to see some comparison of the different ISO settings on this camera, and also a comparison between ISO 400 on a TZ1 and a FZ30 for example...
