$80 for the DMW-CAC1 seems too steep for me
searching for a universal AC adapter I found one at batteryspace.com for $14+ power input for the camera is 8.4V that part is ok Question is Amperage - is that a concern Universal adapter's output is 8.4V 1.7A I cannot find the Amp specification for the camera...is it anything to be concerned with? |

My guess is the adapter will work ...but there is a reason Panasonic quit including them with the camera ...no one used them...get a couple batteries and a card reader and forget the adapter.
I still have the one from my FZ10 but I never use it. |

For $15 the universal adapter accepts 220 and 110 50 and 60 cycle input and can be set to give 3 to 8.4V output. Now if I was just sure of the Amp spec for the camera....... |

My FZ10adapter says 1.2 amps.... but I think that 1.7would be the most the generic adapter can put out, ....I think It would be fine ,as for the little I understanding I have of such things that is not a force the camera to take 1.7 amps and more would be better than less.
I think it would be worse to only have a 3/4 amp adapterif the cameraneeded 1 amp. |
