@dbnnet and Paul, Also many thanks for the encouraging comments. I attach below the original photos - you will see that some post processing was involved. Post processing is so easy with the included software that the camera is set up in a manner not aiming at printing the shots directly. In particular contrast and saturation are reduced to a maximum - so the original pictures are rather flat, which provides more opportunities for adjustments during post processing - I also prefer somewhat underexposed shots in order to prevent burning out of light areas. Still the pictures from the camera are a very good basis and I think the FZ35 did a very good low light job in this case - as all pictures were taken in a rather dark museum - all objects were behind or under glass - and pictures were taken handheld. (I agree with you, dbnnet, that the FZ35 is a great low light camera - in contrast to what is written so often) Here are the details on the camera set up and the exposure conditions: I have a custom set up for low light conditions: - P mode - picture size reduced to 8 MP - intelligent iso: on - iso limit set: 200 - picture adjust: contrast -2, sharpness +1, saturation -2, noise reduction +2 When I shot the pictures I used exposure bracketing set to a maximum - so that three pictures were taken with three different exposures - this also reduces shaking during pressing the button because the last two pictures are taken with the button still pressed down. details of the different pictures: shell: shutter - 1/50 sec apr - f/3 iso - 80 focal length - 6 mm spot metering beans: shutter - 1/30 sec apr - f/3.2 iso 200 focal length - 9 mm spot metering gingko: shutter - 1/30 sec apr - f/2.8 iso 125 focal length 4.8 mm spot metering

The spring is overwhelming me and it is a lot of fun to capture this with the FZ35. I attach some pictures of a cherry tree. More of them are found in an animation on vimeo:

Some great compositions there. They look easy to take but the experience of the photographer comes out in those pictures. The detail on the conch shell, is amazing.
