While sorting through my summer pics I found these.
I had ordred a bag of ladybug EGGS for my garden. When they arrived I was surprized to find it full of already hatched lady bugs!
I grabbed the camera and waited for them to emerge into the light of day for the first time.

Love the pics! So... why the ladybugs, what do they do for your garden? Curious, b/c I have a place in the Catskill Mountains and every year there is an infestation of ladybugs, but being it is only a summer residence, I just have window sills of dead ladybugs to vacuum up. Just wondering what they are good for. Awesome pics!

Nice shots tinosa. How long did these stay in your garden? I've read that they fly off down wind almost immediately.

Nice shots. Not to mention one of the more attention grabbing titles (at least to me) I have seen in awhile.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment.

Hank: Ladybugs are general predators that feed on a variety of slow-moving insects like aphids, moth eggs, mites,
leafhoppers, and mealybugs. With your plentiful supply, you may want to try a summer garden.

d-sr: You are correct, after a couple of days I haven't seen a single one.

Robass: I got them thru mail order, I wouldn't do it again 'cause they disperse way beyond my garden. I take comfort
in knowing they are helping some gardens somewhere.

Steve: Glad I could entice you to take a peek.

How interesting. You can get just about anything mail order. :-).

Nice shots.

One way to get some great shots of Ladybugs. I have thought about buying a bag of them myself.

Speaking of great ladybug shots, there was a yellow one in the yard yesterday, and of course the camera was in the house. By the time I got it she had crawled into f phlox head and was not to be seen. Would have been a great shot though.
