Hi All
Been a while since I have posted. Too much work. The other weekendI took a picture of this Bird in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. It looked nice, but what is it? Picture taken with FZ30, Raynox 1540Pro. F5.6, 1/500 Sec, Iso 80 Allan |

I don't know the answer to your question but I've seen some similar shots either here or in the wildlife forum. If no one here knows the answer I'm sure someone over in wildlife does. They do some awesome bird photos over there.

Its a Lilac-breasted Roller. It preys on lizards and invertebrates but is also known to take small birds. They are also quite unbothered by people, allowing you to get very close in for a good shot .
Nice shot ![]() |

Whatever the type of bird, it's a lovely picture. The lighting is nicely defused and the composition and color are very pleasant to the eye.
