Default Cason J. Callaway

Yep, I'm back with some more Great Lakes ship photos. I sure am looking forward to spring when the sun will come back out. It has been cloudy and dreary here for days. Today was no exception.

I saw this vessel sailing north (upbound) on Lake Huron as I was driving by. From what I can tell it is the Cason J. Callaway of Great Lakes Fleet. She has two sister ships, the Philip R. Clarke and the legendary Arthur M. Anderson.

I like to use the P mode on my camera most of the time. Today, though, I couldn't get it to focus no matter what. I tried all sorts of settings, but I just kept getting that red box. I think the waves were messing with it. Anyway, I threw in the towel and just used IA mode. I'm sill not real happy with how they turned out, but I thought I would post them anyway. I hope you like them nonetheless. Boy, I'd love to see some sun!

In hazy conditions focusing may be difficult. Even if the camera focuses correctly, the result may be similar to what you have got. Manual focusing might have helped a bit, but under the conditions as we see, only a bit.

Tough conditions to shoot on the long end of the zoom.

Comments and suggestions for improvement welcome and appreciated.
