This one is my favourite - lives mostly hidden under leaves of lemon tree, very rarely makes a public appearance like this. The top of the cement post, on which the bird sits, measures just 3 inches and the bird was at least10 feet away.

Well caught and nicely composed, Raghu! However, is it post processed with sharpening?I can see some noise that looks like ithas been amplified by sharpening.
If that's the case; you can avoidit by first running the whole image through Neat Image or Noise Ninja, thencrop if necessaryand finallydosharpening. Then there's no noise to amplify sothe final imagebecomes both sharp and clean ;-) |

It is called the tailor bird. Very small in size, but you should hear its voice when it finds a companion! "Too-wi, too-wi" all the way for hours together!

Is that "too-wi" their mating song ??
Or are they just having fun ?? I also like the color combination on this bird. |

I hear their noise onlywhen thereis company -a lone bird just keeps moving under the shade of leaves. However, whenanother or two join, they makethemselves quite audible.I think they like to chat and so, a perfect fit in this forum!
