Carlsbad is located about 30 miles north of San Diego. Near the I-5 freeway and the shore is a large tract of land that raises buttercup flowers to produce bulbs which are commercially harvested. It’s been there for years, easily seen from the freeway. The past couple of years it has been made into a tourist attraction with a nominal admission charge. We went down there today, and I took a few pictures which can be found at:

WOW! That's a lot of flowers! The panoramas really give you a sense of scale. I would love to experience the fragrance!
