Hello all,

this camera retails for about USD 500.- in the US.

THe prices I have found in Canada are significantly higher ( CAN$ 850.-)

Would anyone have a recommendation to where to get this camera in Canada - at the lowest possible price?

Hi Miklos,

I've bought mine in the US. from Butterfly.com. If you have someone in the States, have them purchase the camera and send it to you by UPS/Fed-Ex. There are no duties charges for the camera.

If you live near Toronto and you can head downtown, there is a place called Golden Electronics. They are authorized Panasonic dealers and they sell the Panasonic FZ-30 for $729.99 and they can probably do better too if you want to pay by cash.

I bought my FZ-30 on ebay for $485 US. from an American supplier. I had to pay for shipping and import duties but it came to a total of $580. Canadian total and this was about four months ago. You could try going this route as it certainly saved me money at the time. Just another idea!!! I have seen it for sale at Henry's Photography for $700. Canadian from time to time but not sure where you are located in Canada. Just an idea!!!!

I bought mine just over a year ago at Vistek. They have a store in Calgary and in Toronto, and since I was travelling thru Calgary I bought it there. It's currently on sale there at $769.95 on-line, with free shipping.

Edited Aug 6: Oops, I bought my FZ-20 there. However, they do carry the FZ-30 at the price quoted above. And if you're in BC, London Drugs carries it as well; can't remember the price, though.
