    Haven't posted much lately. Been too busy to get out in the heat with the camera. I did manage to get a couple of good shots of a brave little dragonfly the other day though. He nearly let me touch his face with the lens. FZ-30 with DCR-150.

    "In your face" is right. That crop gets right in there. Wonderful detail.

    That's beautiful, great detail! There have been a few dragonflies buzzing around here this week but I never see them land.

    The wife and I came home from a picnic Sunday and found that some kind of little fly must have hatched in the yard. We had hundreds of Green Darners flying in the yard and up to about 20 feet over it. Above them were Purple Martins. The dragonflies were so thick that you could stand in the yard and feel the breeze as they flew past, and hear the sound as they collided with each other. None of them landed either. I went out after dark hoping to find them all hanging off of bushes or something, but no luck. While they were flying though it was quite amazing.

    I wish I had my camera with me at work yesturday. I got rear ended while sitting at ared light in the company truck. while we were waiting for the police to show up a purple dragonfly was hovering nearby. I had never seen one that color before.

    Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

    I get quite a few different ones in my yard. It seems like these yellow-ish ones are the easiest to get good photos of because they don't seem to scare easily. I get some smaller blue bodied type, but they don't stay in one place too long.

    I have a small backyard pool and it's fun to watch them dive bomb the surface for quick sips of the water. Maybe one day I'll capture a shot of that!
