Had a real laugh over this one. When the season hits those genes just drive you.

Are you sure this type of use of the aircondition unit does not invalidate the warranty?

Thanks for looking and commenting Rafael. Raghu, she is not as dumb as you think. Although not the greatest place, there is an awning over the window so she has a dry spot, which probably seemed good at the time. Mark, this is an American Robin, which is indeed a kind of thrush. ckthegreek, it may void the warranty, but if the unit breaks we will just get a new one. I bought this for a gift to the school last year, very cheap. Which will cause me some guilt if the eggs cook.

A nice shot, nice place to incubate the eggs.:-) Actually, I don't think that the top of the window unit will get hot enough to do any damage. The unit fan will provide cooling and the nest itself will provide some insulation. But, there again, I have been wrong many times before.

Thanks for looking and commenting bayourebel and Annie. I will let you all know how it turns out. It is not a bad shot considering the crummy background and the fact I rushed it so as not to be a bother to her. You can tell it's a city bird by the paper in among the grass in the nest. There's a place I walk that has a squirrel nest made out of mattress stuffing, and I have seen many squirrel and bird nests composed partially of those plastic bags that blow around everywhere.

It shouldn't be long before they hatch so every thing should be OK.
