My RDS mount
I have tried hard to avoid LEGO this time, but there was no chance! The criteria were: [*]- fast mounting[/*][*]- small size "next to nothing"[/*][*]- flash has to be free[/*][*]- shiftable -backward/forward-[/*][*]- can be used together with a tripod[/*][*]- universal mounting point for several purposes [/*][*]- removable[/*][*]- full sight with both(!) eyes, to see the surrounding area [/*] This is my solution: ![]() Two LEGO bricks (the third is decoration) were fixed with a double adhesive "poster strip". The "removing trigger" will be covered lateron. The RDS is mounted on a LEGO technic beam. At this point the height can be adjusted. Two connectors provide the quick release mechanism. The device passed the obligatory BIF seagull test. This is my universal mounting point now for: reflectors, torches, hot shoe... I am still searching for the hot shoe of the FZ5. Panasonic must have forgotten this part ;-) Hope you like it. Sven this and more: http://www.geocities.com/seemolf/tec...sAndTicks.html |

Hi Seemolf,
Have been away from these forums for whole winter, so I gues I have missed a lot, but what is that RDS thing, that you have stacked to your camera? :? Sorry if the answer is in those links - Have no time at the moment, but will check them later :-) |

Hi Ugis,
nice to have you with us again! The red dot sight is not so important. It is just an extended view finder for distant fast moving objects. The red dot is not (!) a laser pointer, it is only visible in the view finder. There is no longer a black-out in my view finder! The underlying plate is much more important. It is a universal mount for my new macro reflectors - using the onboard flash. Sven |

But it looks like your equipment is evolving with speed of lightning, can't wait to see results! :-) By the way - has spring arrived in Germany? I guess macro season almost arrived... :-) Ugis |

results?
Just look at the peacock feather on my homepage, a nice macro journey with the onboard flash! Francesco (narmer) had some ideas which could realized with LEGO prototyping. Yesterday there was winter around here, today there is spring! All the flowers grew below the snow. Sven |
