I will never tire of looking at the native birds of Australia. He looks so content and sleepy. Love the shot. Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful bird and shot. Could that be a young bird before it gets it's full feathers? Is it your bird or wild in a park?

Thanks for comments. Yes could be a young bird but it resembled me in my Sunday best so thought it was old!
The parrot is a wild one although tourist orientated. Taken at a resort in the rain forest mountains of Northern New South Wales. Us day trippers are conned into buying twists of wheat (or whatever) and we stand with our arms and hands outstretched in a clearing until the birds decide it is "look after the tourists time". 30 or more various parrots partake and although maybe daggy, it is a thrill! I have previously posted this picture of a King Parrot taken at the same time , but if you missed it... |
