As promised a few of my latest shots from my faithful FZ10. I need to get a new camera bag so I can swap easily between both the E1 and FZ10 - my current Tamrac rucksack makes it pretty difficult to do so.

Vikings - well not quiet when I spotted the boat in the distance it did look like a viking boat. Taken handheld at 420mm - just resized. ![]() Cheers HarjTT :O |

Easy to see you have lived with that camera for awhile no its not a viking longship, its a dutch yacht. They are often made of steel with wood trim and accessories to keep the cost down. And the unusual rig can only be achieved in wood. The strange pear shaped thing on the side is a leeboard, the one opposite is probably down, they are used as keels. In the notoriosly shallow water off the Netherlands and Germany they are quite usefull, not bad in canals either, so they bear some resembelance to british barges. |

Hi Donna,Annie, Roger, Pics, Jim,Riley and Romero
Thanks for the comments all and checking the pics. Annie, the 2nd shot is taken at the British Museum's Ancient Egyptian section one of my favorite places in London. Pic's I was pretty lucky getting that shot of the dogs one handed as I had the E1 in my left hand and they had only just come back around to that part of the boat. I think OIS really helped and me gritting my teeth as I took the shot. Riley, thanks for the info on the boat. From the distance it looked like a viking boat and that made me grab the FZ10 so that I could get a couple of shots as it went past. Annie, my settings on my FZ10 are the same as most peoples FZ10/20's - low saturation, contrast and sharpness, HQ Jpeg, spot focus, ISO50-200 (200 only if its really necessary), usually underexposing by -2/3 to -1, WB - cloudy or auto. From what I've seen the FZ30 has a more accurate white balance and exposure and I'm assuming all of the newer FZ50/FZ7 will either be as good or better than the '30. I also recommend John's (boyzo's) camera holding technique and breathing out just as you press the shutter as both combined make the camera shake even less. Cheers HarjTT |
