I'm looking for a UV filter for a FZ10. Any suggestions on that or any other filters for this camera?

I bought a 72mm coated UV filter on eBay for $9.95+$2.99 S&H. Ordered on 11/19, it arrived 11/24, just before the camera did. Seems fine, although I'm sure it isn't the same quality as the $40 one Panasonic sells. Mostly, I just wanted some protection for the lens, but to use any filter with the FZ10, you have to use the hood as well, which means you can't use the supplied lens cap.
This filter did not include a cap for itself, so now I'm looking for a cap to protect the filter that protects the lens. I also got a Tamrac 5683 bag to protect the cap that protects the filter that protects the lens, and by the time I'm done protecting everything, it'll take ten minutes to get at the camera and hope I don't drop it. The Tamrac bag is intended for ultrazooms and actually manages to (barely) hold the camera, even with the hood & filter attached (lens end down, back of camera at top of bag). B&H sels it for $22.95 & $4.95 S&H. |
