"Freedom of the Seas", billed as the largest (and the tallest?) cruise ship in the world, and owned by Royal Caribbean International, approaches Calshot Castle on its way from Southampton to be officially named in New York.

Should she be showing her name if she hasn't yet been named?

On her way with an admiring crowd. She appeared to carry no passengers as she left Southampton.

That is one huge vessel!

Looks like there would be steady work for window washers on her!

Nice pictures Peter, I was hoping to get down myself today, but unfortunately work comes first, so I had to make do with the in dock shots, but it looks much bigger on your shots, maybe it was the perspective in the dock that made it look smaller.

There were many people down at Calshot this morning, but mostly the retired oldies like myself, who had plenty of time to hang around and wait for the ship's late departure, before heading off to pick up the grandkids from school. :-)
