LTZ - very interesting comparison. I always thought Panasonics have a slightly blue tint which I see here. I guess which you prefer is strictly personal taste. The FZ100 seems a little more crisp, or maybe there is just more contrast. Since you were there in person, which seems closer to the actual subjects? Very cool shots, btw.

Yes Saly I adjusted both to my personal taste...I could not get the Canon anymore sharp/crisp, so that was disappointing...some of what you are seeing is the Panasonic seem to meter the light better any certain photos...

Welcome home Cole.
I see you are playing with your SX30. I sent my SX30 back. So now I'm concentrating on the FZ35. I found the SX30 had problems trying to focus in low light where the FZ35 had no problems at all. But the zoom on the SX30 is pretty nice. I also liked the articulated screen.

Good effort to compare. I feel the SX pics look more realistic and smooth overall; whereas the FZ pics seem to be sort of saturated. At least on my monitor. Can you set the same parameters on both cameras - say, program mode, ISO 100, auto WB, etc. and test?

It did OK, not bashing it...just heavy and size wise it is much larger than the FZ series...same with the HS10, I didn't keep it long either...and as Clint stated focusing issues in low lit areas can be challenginf for the SX30 and also the HS10... |

I hear you about the articulated screen! I'm getting a bit tired of laying on the ground, contorting myself to see what I'm focused on... |

At least I have the Flip Bac mirror on my FZ35. I'm studying up on the G2 and GH1 from Panasonic - the larger sensor sounds promising.
