Hi, It's time to trade FZ20 to FZ30... and what about the add-on's purchased earlier ? what to keep ? What to change to ? haven't seen talking about add-on's to FZ30.
Phayee adapter Nikon 6T (62mm) Tcon 14B (62mm) B+W UV filter (62mm) Hama Hood (62mm) it's a thread adapter the best choice ? or it's best to ebay all of it and purchase new versions...as for Tcon 14b, I've seen here that Tcon17 or Nikon seems to be the best choices, but what to decide with the rest ? tellus what is your opinion |

Betwen wcon-08b and raynox hd-6600, which one works better on fz30?
Will the new hd-6600 works better on fz20 than the dcr-6600, i.e. no vignetting? Is tcon-14b works better on fz30 than dcr2020 and dcr1540? Does 6t work as well on fz30 as on fz20? Does the step-ring affect the image quality? Thanks. |

Phayee adapter: GO (useless on FZ-30)
Nikon 6T (62mm): KEEP (but need a 55-62 step-up ring) Tcon 14B (62mm): GO and get a TCON-17 or Nikon TC-E15ED (if you don't mind higher light fall-off) or Nikon TC-E17ED if you aim for much better image quality B+W UV filter (62mm): GO/KEEP depending on if you wish to standardize lens accessories to 62mm Hama Hood (62mm): see above I have a post below comparing various teleconverters: http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...48&forum_id=23 An updated version is available in my FZ-30 user guide, which is not posted at my site yet: www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/User-Guide/FZ-30 CK http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam Nikon Coolpix 950/990/995/2500/4500/5700, Panasonic FZ-10 and Canon A95 User Guides |

Here is an example of the FZ30 > DCR6600 glued into a 55-58 step-ring. Raynox will have the DCR6600-55mm mount next month. ![]() The FZ20 requires an adapter. The CRing adapter is the only one with the 62-52mm CRing, which will give you the results in the picture below. That is because it has the closest fit regardless of the mounting size. The DCR6600 in any size mount will vignette on the FZ10/15 and 20. But at the widest setting on the CRing it is acceptable. ![]() The TCON14B producesvery acceptable results on the FZ30 if you have the lens keep it. Your images up to 8x10 will be very good. Other people have demonstrated that under ridiculous tests that the TCON14B has CA. The TCON17 and the DCR1540 perform better on the FZ30 then the prior models. That is because they fit closer to the front Leica bezel. The DCR1540 requires special glue on 55-58 ring. A non-glued 55-52mm ring will be available in the US in 60days. This ring will work with the Nikon 4T, DCR1540 DCR6600 -52etc. DCR1540 picture with glue-in ring. 684mm. ![]() Here are other examples of lenses on the FZ30. http://lovelife.smugmug.com/gallery/804122 Here are other examples of lenses on the FZ20. http://lovelife.smugmug.com/gallery/543892 I have not tested any macros on the FZ30 but I feel the added 4mm standard ring distance will efect the edge quality. The best bet is the Nikon 4T with the new ring. I also hear ther will be a special ring for the DCR250 macro. HTH |

ok, thank You for your time
FZ20, Lowe D-Res50, one of the Sandisk UltraII 512Mb (i have two for the FZ20) and the extra battery already have a client... I was 100% shure phayee was a "must go"... pretty shure that uv and hama hood should go also, so we can fit a closer to lens uv filter and the the hood (without a step-up ring that move it away a bit) but intended to know expert ( yours, my friends ) opinion But with Tcon 14b (and the 86mm uv filter) or Nikon 6T, I really don't know what to do. Recent test posted here about tele on FZ30 confused me even more...obviously as someone the choose Leica Lenses, we do not intend acceptable results (that is not a critic Lovelife it's my point of view) I just want the best. I prefer to sell the Tcon and purchase a new option, but witch one guys ?? can you please clear the clouds on my head ? and what about the Nikon 6T that produced so good results on FZ20 ? Is it a comparable match with FZ30 with a step up ring ? is there better ? did anyone tried it already ? |

Just keep the Nikon 6T +2.9 because good close-up lenses do not have very significant differences. If you wish to have higher power, you may try the Canon 500D +4. There is no good close-up lenses of diopter +4 or higher. CK |

Thank you for both of your time.
I am still a little confused. If I were to decide on a tele-converter and a wide angle lens to use with both FZ20 and FZ30 which would they be? Please recommend. How well do TC-E17ED and TC-E15ED work on FZ20 compare to TCON-14B? Does Nikon 6T work as well on FZ30 as FZ20? Thank you. |

The Nikon #6T performs equally well on both FZ-20 and FZ-30. Close-up lenses would not make much differences. CK http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam Nikon Coolpix 950/990/995/2500/4500/5700, Panasonic FZ-10 and Canon A95 User Guides |
