one of the worst, imho, side of fz30 is the flash system. Maybe cause i had a Nikon F100 + sb20 that is amazing.....

Btw, i saw that the flash power adjustment, if u have fixed iso, doesent change nothing!!!! -2ev or +2ev is the same!!!!

Look at this example. To have the face with little more light, without put subject in the sun, i have only 1 way with fz30.... be closer to subject.

Is it possible? Or i didnt understand smt in FZ30? (i have it from few days)

I wander why you don't want the lady on the picture to stand in the sunlight?

You can also put the metering mode on spot, and if the lady is within the reach of the flash, I think it could work out (if automode doesn't work for you, then put it in manual mode)

The internal flash is a little weak for my taste.
I would recommend the SunPak auto 383 Super, external flash. This is a manual flash, but once you get used to it, it does wonders.

You can also go into manual mode and overexpose the background a bit to get a better light on the foreground.
