If I add a TCON-17, do I mount on top of the UV filter or is it best to remove it before adding the TCON-17?
Also does the TCON accept and or is it recommended to add a filter to the front of the TCON-17? |

You can not add a filter to the TCON17.
It is best not to mount on top of any filter, as youwould likemaximum shutter speed as possible for best results. |

How does a UV or sky filter affect shutter speed mounted under a TCON17? |

Any filter has an affect on shutter speed, some more andsome less.
You can try and see for your self. In day light scene, set the apertureto6.3 and aboveand take two shoots, one with a filter and another one without, check the shutter speed for both. With the TCON you need maximum aperture as possible (6.3 and above), a filter will cause less light to get to the CCD. |

If I were you ...I would try it both ways ...while these lenses are made to close specks they are not exact......I have a Tcon14B that works better on a filter and one that works better without the filter.....I would experiment.
I also have a Tcon 17 and a B300 and to be honest I can not see a difference in either when used with and without a filter.....Now I do have a thin 55mm filter...but I have quit removing it when using the Tcon 17. But that definately was not the case with the FZ10 or 20. The closer the tcon set to the camera the better. But once again I would try both ways and see what you think. |

The Tcon mounts on the plastic adapter and is too far from the lens to touch it. |

What TCON or adapter are you refferring to? The TCON-17 is 55mm and doesn't require an adapter with the FZ30? Are you referring maybe to the adapter for Olympus cameras? |

With the FZ20 and 15 the Camera has a plastic adapter for the flare cover, the TCON mounts on that.
Isn't is the same with the 30? |
