I would like to know what other FZ30 users have found to be good settings ?
Today I managed to take my camer out for the first time. The weather was very over cast so I expected dull images. I am finding the images a little to dull even though the weather was not the best. I'm finding the images not crisp, full of colour like they should be. I know its my fault not the cameras I just need some settings that a proven and tested to work with. |

Here is another PLEASE remember this is a very over cast day. Is there any thing I could have done to make the pictures more vivid, more colour not so dark and dull images/colour ?
Again I realize its my fault and not the cameras. What are some good settings to use and test ? I used a UV filter could that have contributed to the dark images ? |

I think my problem may lye in the UV filter that I used. The 55mm UV filter has a very light tint to it that I'm not impressed with.

I do not think it has anything to do with the filter.....
I feel these shots are what wrong with using the multimetering mode ...it averages a photo. I use centerweight meter most of the time but for the swan and goose spot meter would have been best, IMHO. Since you do not seem to want to punch the photos up in a photoeditor I suggest you turn at least the saturation and sharpness up to high....and in the first photo contrast on high would havve also been great but in my opinion I do not like the contrast on high I set it and NR on low. The white swan in the sun is about the hardest shot possible and the geese are so close to being perfect just a little PP adjustment really makes it special. Try my suggestions they cost nothing and you may like them. If you go to spot meter that will take a little practice but you will get nice results...just keep checking with a 1/2 press of the shutter how the photo changes depending on where you meter. |

All for helping a fellow shooter out but 'caveat emptor' here. The OP is considered a troll by most. His constant rants on the S2IS and one-track mind have transferred from the Canon forum to here as I suspected. Don't say you weren't warned.

EGGUARDO where have you been ? Thinking of buying a Panny ? Good choice !
Any way thanks for the settings tips I'll try those. I belive my problem was due to 1. Very Very poor over cast weather. 2. Lack of experience 3. That Dam UV filter I got was WRONG. It was not a UV filter after all. Thats why the picture were DARKER then they should be ![]() Got a new Hoya UV filter today and a polarizing filter. Now we have to wait for the snow to melt and try again. P.S. EGGUARDO I have various S2 accecesories for sale. http://www.videosilva.com/cgi-bin/ib...0;&#entry1 |
