Default FZ35 - fireworks

I'm just looking for a few tips. This weekend, and next one too, I expect opportunities to find fireworks displays. I've not done any of these kinds of pics.

I have a tripod, and I know that is a must. But, how about camera settings? I know there is a "fireworks" scene. Is that the best place to start? Once the show starts, there are no "do over" requests, and it lasts only a short time. So, there isn't much opportunity to experiment.

Dial setting
ISO setting
White Balance
Shutter time/f stop
Picture
Exposure
Focus
???
???

Any suggestions that anybody can share from previous experiences?

Thanks.
