FZ35 moon shots

I hadn't intended on taking any moon shots tonight, but the opportunity presented itself. :D I'm sure the more experienced ones can do better, but I am very pleased with how they turned out.

One thing I learned is that when taking a picture of the moon the EZ zoom doesn't really make any difference. The moon was the same size at 12MP 18x zoom as it was 3MP 35x zoom.

Here are a couple of the shots. I changed the white balance to give it a nice blue hue. These are crops of the 12MP photos. I shot these in aperture priority with a value of 8. I set the ISO to 200. The normal moon had an auto white balance.

Been waiting to get a moon shot myself now that i have a tripod but can never remember when it is going to be a full moon. Also need a clear night sky too of course. If i ever get a good shot of the moon i will be happy to show it, lol. E.

From what I've read it's best to take the shot a couple of days before or after the full moon. You get better shadows in the creaters when it's not a full moon.
