I would expect full zoom to have issues. I do some IA modes and have some good luck with it but the lighting has to be right or favorable. Ideally, the image shake icon must not be flashing.

You do have what I think are blowouts in the tree pictures as the contrast between a bright sky and dark trees is not favorable.

Most all of us take bad pictures at times and that's why we practice and take a lot of them to weed out the bad ones.

Based on these examples, the FZ35 is certainly doing a better job, not only in terms of sharpness but color accuracy (saturation), noise control, detail retention and image definition.

Thank you Utopium for the sample pictures.
The comparison definitely shows FZ35 is better in iso.
Canon A560 has 29mp/cm2 vs Fz35's 43mp/cm2 so Canon has upper hand there.
And you are correct that iA mode is a complete stupid mode.
It takes pictures at 400 iso even in daylight depending upon different angles.

I got the replacement and pictures are slightly better than before but may be because I am limiting the max iso to 200. Will play with it little longer to make it work for me. I like this camera's features and really want to get good pictures out of it.
