They look really good, LTZ. Rather drab but cute bird. Must be related to the Towhees we get here in So Cal, except ours is more brownish. Very sharp images.

Cole - those look great. I think the bird enjoyed posing for you. The FZ40 is doing good!

Mark it's a good camera but so is the FZ100...I have thoroughly enjoyed both...with a few in camera adjustments both can take some excellent photos for my old eyes...

Those are amazing, Cole-
I just got my FZ40 yesterday, but that is the level of sharpness and detail I would like to get. Great job, well done.have you made any "in camera" camera sharpness adjustments? While I am at it:what is the filter size for a UV or GPL filter? On the FZ35 it was 46mm, but this is a larger diameter lens. Sarah Joyce Last edited by mtclimber; Dec 31, 2010 at 9:09 PM. |

Sarah-
If I might pop in here- the FZ40 utilizes a 52mm filter size. ANd as someone waiting delivery of my own FZ40- I, too would love to know some of these amazing photographer's camera settings! Wes |

Wes-
Many thanks for the filter size on the FZ40. I am into my second dfay with the FZ40, but loving it a whole lot. It was pretty gray and overcast today with lots of rain showers. So I put some blue sky into this photo instead of the blown out white sky I recorded. This is a rock that is about a 1/2 mile down the road that is over 100 feet tall. http://anchorse.smugmug.com/Other/Pa...3_JfzoY-XL.jpg Sarah Joyce |
