Not quite a full moon, but at least it came out from behind the clouds so I thought I'd try a few things. This image was composed from a bracketed set of 3 shots, all at ISO 80, 5MP extended zoom:
1/400 f/5.6 1/200 f/5.2 1/80 f/5.2 The images were combined with Picturenaut, saved as 16-bit tiff (no tone mapping), and a bit of processing with The GIMP. I'd like to clean up some of the noise, but couldn't work out how to do it subtly enough. ![]()

Great shot, Mick. I have downloaded Picturenaut but haven't used it yet. In your experience, what do you think of it?

Mick looks really good! Try shooting it with Color Effect set to B&W and turn the contrast up +2....

Thanks Wagaboo.
Craig, Picturenaut is brilliant if you want to maintain a natural look. It doesn't produce the "look" that is often associated with HDR, but it is a quality product. Thanks LTZ470, I'll try that.

RE4MS,
This is with the FZ40 alone - no additional lenses. As I mentioned though, I took 3 bracketed exposures and combined them with Picturenaut.

Did you used the extended zoom at reduced resolution or the normal resolution at 14M? Best regards, Stefan |
