Well I got a lot to learn but.... if the sun would stay out that would be great!
Excuse my rookiness, but my other photos failed to upload. This is my first go at something like this. What is the best way to get a 1024 X 1024 Pic from a
4320 X 3240 pixel picture without having to crop it?

Disregard my question. I just started with Picasa and found it.

Use FastStone Image Viewer, don't forget to save resized image as a copy.

Zos-

You are correct. The photo that you want to post must be re-sized using software. Even free software such as Picasa and Faststone Image Viewer can do the task.

Your #1 photo appears to have heavy backlighting, meaning simply had you take the photo of your dog with the sun/lighting to your back you would have captured a much better image.

The #2 photo has far less backlighting, and the FZ40 managed to get a decent exposure /capture. We will be able to tell more when we see the entire image.

Thanks mt. I thought so. I will try to start with un-cropped photos. Now that I get the jest of it. Having fun learning so far....That's a good thing.

With the "additional" attached photos; I love the first one! Beautiful job!

The puzzle pieces seem a little out of focus.

last one, is a nice one with the color red, against the snow.

This camera makes us look very, very good; doesn't it?:)

thanks csa. Yes, I need to do some tweaking for sure.

I really like the two shots of the tan colored leaves, particularly the second one a beautiful! Your dog images looks a bit noisy, what ISO did you use?

Zos Jan 8, 2011 3:28 PM

My dog was a full 24x zoom and hand held so it got blurry and I tried to sharpen it. I then ended up cropping it to upload it. It was a failed first attempt. He never sits still either. Constant sniffing around, but we love the little rescued guy
ISO says 100 and F4.2
