WOW! The first shot is very nice but the wide angle just blows it away. Thanks for the comparison.

Does anyone here leave the lens adapter on the camera all the time? Not the lens hood but the adapter. It makes me feel more secure about the camera when I have it on. The camera ius also easier to hold when I have it on.
Obviously I take it off when using the flash. Just wondering. Best Ron |

Very nice fmoore. How do you find the barrel distortion and corner softness using this converter? Hard to tell on this shot if there's much distortion introduced. Do you use the transform and skew feature on ps to change the perspective to reduce barrel distortion? thekman.

There is essentiallyno barrel distortion or corner degradation even at higher zooms with the fz5 and dcr6600 but only if you get the wa lens very close to the camera lens which requires some shortening of the fz5 stock plastic adapter. See http://www.ishots.net/fz5/modified_fz5_adapter.htm I'm working on a less aggressive modification.

Thanks for the info mate. I'm going to check it out and find one for my fz15. I seem to prefer going wide a lot more lately........thekman.

The fz15 isn't as compatible with the dcr6600 as the fz5 is. The closest you can get to the fz15 lens with the dcr6600 is using the raynox rt5264p adapter - the same one used in the fz5 modification. The rt5264p (developedfor the fz10 with 52mm front threads and 64mm rear that attach to the fz10/15/20) still places the dcr6600 too far from the fz15 extended lens resulting invignetting and corner degradation at higher zooms although there is no barrel distortion. The dcr6600 is quitea lens but it seems as though the fz10/15/20 lens system is simply not compatible with the wider wa lenses. The oly wcon07 doesn't work any better. Perhaps the kodak-schneider .7x would work but I doubt it. About the best you can do is go with a .8x like the oly wcon08.

I took this shot with the Raynox DCR6600 on my FZ20. Seems quite compatible to me. This was taken at 1x, no cropping. I recently upgraded to the FZ30, got the 55/52 TRing, and it works just as well. I have yet to check how it behaves at higher zooms. |

What about using LoveLife's CRing adaptor and CRing with the dcr6600pro on the FZ15? Doesn't it get the wide lens closer to the camera lens?
