I just upgraded from my Nikon Coolpix 4500 to the FZ20. I love the feel of the camera, the menus, the flash, the LCD, and everything. However, it seems like the photos that I take turn out on the "soft" side instead of crisp and colorful. My Nikon pics were very sharp. I've tried playing with the contrast, sharpness, etc. But nothing seems to work. I really want to keep this camera but want crisper photos. Anyone know what I can do? Or are these photos just destined to be softer than an Nikon's? Oh, and I'm not a professional photographer or anything LOL.....I just want to take really good pics of my daughter. And family vacations and stuff. Thanks in advance!

If you have photoshop the unsharp is excellent in improving sharpness. (it sharpens as opposed to what it is called...).

Eventhough some reviews claimed FZ5 was too sharp I found that for webview one wants to view things sharper. And after testing prints at Jesspos I feel the extra sharp ones look better usually unles sone is after a special effect.
Some people seem to wish for digital photos to look like film but I differ as it is a different medium altogether and if we want to just copy what film does why not stick to film?
Just an opinion.....

Can you post an example of a soft photo?
