I liked narmers design and freds little trick to hide a picture.
So this is just a html test with some pictures in (and out of) it. #01 jealous sky (double groynes) ![]() #02 there is a hidden face (and ears) in any complex structure! ![]() Linked Pictures (will be opened in a new window): #03 ![]() ![]() ![]() #06 ![]() ![]() ![]() #09 ![]() ![]() ![]() #12 ![]() What is your opinion, is this better than posting the whole pictures? http://sgsg.zoto.com/user/lightbox/C...aded-asc/0-160 Sven |

Great pics very unusual subject.
Yes the Gallery link is a good idea, some people are on dialup, more than 4 images can be too much ;-) for them. John |

I like the gallery idea. I check the postings everyday. You guys are really pushing me to take better photos but I have a long way to go with my focusing.
I'm having trouble posting pictures. Could you go through the process step by step for me. When I post it says I am over limit or the picture just does't show up on my post. |

thanks john for your advice! ..and comment :-)
Hello d-sr, I am not an expert in posting, but I can try to help a little bit. Please read this first (digiscoping forum): http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=68 My way posting is not the best, but it works! I use photoshop to resize the pictures: store for the web dialogue. My maximum size is 800*600 otherwise the people will have to scroll the picture and the text. This can be very disturbing. You can determine the size of the file by setting the quality to a certain value (30-60%?). My shots will be between 60 to 100 kB then. Disadvantage: photoshop cuts off the EXIF data! I started storing the picture at steve's digicam (second last symbol in editing mode). I was too stupid to store more than one local picture in one posting. Disadvantage: Viewers have to be member of steve's to see the pics Advantage: you have a counter, how many people have seen the pictures Then I stored prepared pictures at external servers (eg. zoto - free 2 GB). Preparation of postings is quite easy then: Open the picture in the desired resolution in a separate window. Transfer the picture by copy and paste to the editing windows and write your text. You can also use the picture symbol and type/copy the external location of the picture, only local pics will be transferred to steve's. There is no problem to use several pictures in one posting now. Advantage: you can be offline while editing, simply open the new topic dialogue and go offline. All pictures will be visible at once as long as they are in your local cache (eg. by opening them in a second browser window). Go online and send when you are ready! Today I am preparing the posting in firefox/mozilla editing mode first. This is a simple typing and copy/paste procedure. The result can be marked as a whole and copied to the editing window. Hidden links behind index pictures were edited in html text mode. This a little bit "advanced", but the other hints are easy to use. Web designers know more sophisticated solutions.... greetings Sven fred, I saw your posting lateron - thanks! I did not know the limits like you do! |

Thanks, seemolf & fmoore for your comments. Sorry to have started a new topic on your thread seemolf, but it looked like you were the best ones to ask. I love both of your photos and you can just call me the "jealous photographer", at leastuntil I learn how to use all the great options on the FZ.

thanks d-sr,
please feel free to add whatever you want! This is not my thread, this is our forum. We all learn from this forum and there has to be an answer to any question! I would appreciate other peoples adding photos and opinions for comparison. So the main point should be education and not fluttering (or just a little bit...). Sometimes we have the same object from different views and this is fun! Sven |

Nice shots Sven, love the wispy clouds! I also like the gallery idea but still prefer to view the pictures within the forum. Jim

Hi,
as there are often questions on positioning several pictures in one post and now even several thumbnails, I have written a short and simple description. This method works with thumbs and normal pictures as well! I am using two windows and simple cut and paste - nothing else (this should work even with old dogs!) The pictures and thumbs should be located on an external server (not drive C:...), otherwise there will be problems with the 250kB limit at steve's. External pictures can be viewed without being a member of steve's! You can decide when these pictures will be deleted. good luck Sven ![]() |
