Default Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

Built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, this beautiful building is on the main thoroughfare of Jaipur. So, either you have to go early in the morning to get a 'full' photograph, or, if you go after daily life has started, take a somewhat compromised photo like I have done. Anyway, the building is beautiful and unique, rising up to five storeys and having something like a thousand windows that allow air flow to keep the interior cool even in the torrid summer of Rajasthan. This is believed to be built more for use by women of the royal family, to have a good view of the life outside, especially on special occasions, processions, etc., without being seen by the public.

Wow, really impressive shots again, Raghu! The size of the building in the first shot is just incredible, then you see all the details. Amazing place.
