Hello from a newbie
 
Hello to all. Just got a Lumix FZ35 and now have to learn how to use it. Ive been reading the posts here.Lost of good info.Im very interested in macro and HDR and landscape.

Ill post a pic when I get a keeper.

Well done, Gordy-

Thanks for posting your first photo. when doing macros, I tend to use a tripod, and a small square of black velvet that rolls around a rod attached to the end of the velvet.

The black velvet produces no reflections, and offers a dramatic backdrop that tends to showcase the flower and the colors nicely. The velvet also eliminates distracting background elements. I set-up the shot, use the self timer. and hold the velvet backdrop, and it works nicely. For some that might be too much set-up.
