I seem to remember that in the past, a couple of users had reported the lens system "jumping off track". And I remember the cure was about the same. A little tap or a "very" careful twist to the lens as it tries to extend outward. I think I also recall someone had the lens stuck extended but the careful nudge at turn-off cured it.
I also remember when the FZ10 came out that some were suggesting to hold the camera lens face down when turning it on; and face up when turning it off. I tried to practice this for awhile and soon forgot, but never had any problem with either the FZ10 or FZ20. |

I had the same error message appear a few days ago about turning off the camera and then turning it back on. Problem now seems obvious from reading these posts, that it is related to lens extending and retracting. I had forgot to remove the lens cap before attaching an Olympus Tcon 17 to my FZ20. Of course the lens would not extend properly with the cap on and the message appeared. Silly me.

Looks like I could have saved myself a hundred bucks by coming to this forum instead of sending it in for repair.
 But, I am glad that you got yours fixed and it is working out, smilez. ![]() |
