I took these last night at practice. Full manual-1/80sec-F2.8-ISO-200- little or no zoom. First 9 were to dark, 10-21 were black and 22-38 bright, but color way of to orange. I don't understand the difference in results. Camera has always seemed to work alright but this is first time at full manual inside with low light. Could someone please tell me what you think happened?
Thanks Don |

I really am not positive but it could be the lighting was not the same for the light and dark photos and the WB seems off in all of the photos.
And while its difficult to alter photos that have been compressed that much < ti seems to me those are all in a range that could be fixed working with the original photo. |

As I say they could be much better if you start with a larger file.

Doing a manual white balance on stage might help, but different colors of lights at
different times will still change the WB. As you were in manual mode I'm lost at the moment on #2. Unless the lights were down a bunch. |

The #2 picture is lacking a LOT of detail due to under-exposure but I did find some detail in it. (not much!) Hard to say why it, (the original), was so dark! Jim

Thanks, Gene, Tazzie and Jim. I first thought it was the number of people on stage reflecting the light, but I think it must be the lighting itself. I can work with a lot of the shots with ppx but would like to get better to start with that what I did last night. While taking the pictures I did not notice, but they had to have made subtle changes in lighting as the scenes changed. Good thing it was practice. I go back tonight and the real thing is Saturday night.
Thanks again, Don |
