I love the architecture of Helsinki as it is such a mix of old achitecture from the Russian era (you can see a statue of the Tsar in the distance in one of the shots in this series - the architect for that area of the city was influenced heavily by St Petersburgh) and the influence of art deco through the national romanticism of the late 19th and early 20th century. I live in UK and we have no art deco buildings here that I know of. So I always enjoy those in Finland and in central Europe as well. Next visit I will try some shots of the modern buildings as well I think... Thanks again everyone! |
