Heya there
Hello guys,

My name is Dany and i'm from Cyprus, i was reading a lot this forum lately and decided to join it since i ordered and waiting for my new fz38 :)

I'm totally newb in photography, and hope that with your help a could learn few things.

I would like to ask if there is any online guide that i could read to learn a bit more about how to use a camera like that ? all those settings looks like chineese to me :p

Also, what memory card should i buy, i intend to use it also for video, but not all the time ofc. So an 8mb sd card would be enought ? Should i get a 16gb, or maybe 8+8 ?

Welcome, Dany! There are some useful "howtos" and tutorials in the Knowledge Center section of the website that will give you an orientation to some of the aspects of digital cameras and photography. While you are waiting, you can also download the manuals for your new camera here.
I have only been a member of this forum for a short time, and I have found everybody to be very friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to seeing you post some pics!!!

Welcome to the Forum and to the Panasonic P+S Folder.

We have lots of FZ-35/38 info in the folder and a great group of folks who post samples and share tips. Make yourself comfortable.

thank you guys, i'll take a look at these.

Still no suggestion about the memory card ?

I got the Transcend Class 6 8GB SDHC because of a recommendation I read. There is a thread on this board here discussing best SDHC for FZ-35/38. SPeed of the card becomes more critical if you are shooting video.

Just opened my fz38, it looks perfect. and also got an 8gb class 10 SDHC transcend.
I have a lot of reading to do while it' charging ^^
