The engine wouldn't start when we tried to set off for Charleston on Sunday - the day after I arrived. Had to call in mechanic Dan. Took three days to fly in the parts and get the engine fixed.

We finally got out into the ocean, planning on an overnight to Charleston. But an accidental gybe in fairly heavy weather demolished one of the mainsheet blocks (we found it to have been badly corroded). So we had to limp in to Hilton Head to make repairs. Here's a pic of Harbourtown where we docked.

These shots are great, and the narrative makes it all better. I thought about you when we were down in Florida recently and wondered how the trip had gone so I was glad to see this post.
