Stunning shots Hiroshi, where is this place at? I went to the Gold Temple in Kyoto two years ago and it looks very similar. Yeah, I think this are calendar shots too! hehe.

Samir and Yoshiaki, thanks for the nice compliments. All of the shots were done in the morning from 9am to about 11am. This is a perfect time to shoot and take advantage of the angle of the sun and the shadows it casts.
Regarding to the location of this place, it's way far from Kyoto. You have to cross a big pond to get there:G.... I took a trek up to San Francisco, and the garden you see is the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. Even though I've not seen the movie, I understand that part of "Memoirs of a Geisha" was filmed there. Hiroshi |

That's cool :-)! I didn't know that we had japanese garden in the US. Here in Texas it wouldn't probably work, hehe.

Hiroshi
Some cracking shots - the best gardens on the planet! Ascaria I think theres quiet a few Japanese Gardens on the west Coast - SF, Seattle and possible the largest outside of Japan is the one in Portland, OR - thats made up of 5 different garden styles so I wouldnt be suprised if theres one close to you. We even have two in the London - a very small unimpreesive one in Holland Park and a better one, pretty similar to the one in Hiroshi's pics at Kew Gardens. I'll be makign a visit there in a month. Cheers HarjTT :G |
