I was going out to do some work on my truck when I spotted this jumper sitting on my press. It was very calm and didn't try to run or jump. It was the calmest jumper I have ever seen. I let it crawl in my hand and took it across the yard to free it in an area with a bunch of flies. The whole time it never freaked out so before I set it free I put it in the ice chest for a white background shot.

Thanks for the comments!

It's kind of funny but I never get that creepy feeling about jumping spiders. They look too much like mutant ewoks for me to think of them as creepyI guess!

You must be a spider charmer, they usually don't want to be still. great shots, The white BG one is super.

Thanks tcook! I think I'm definitely building a light box just to get jumping spiders against a white background. It's only the second spiderI have shot that way but i really like the look! Now I just need to find more calm jumpers like this one!

He is a cute little spider. The ones around here would never let you carry them anywhere. The hide in cracks if I so much as look in their direction.

That second one looks quite spooky. We really have an amzing collection of macro shooters on this forum
