Thanks for the comments Ronnie and Ragu.

Ragu, that was one of my all time favorite movies. Partly because of the movie and partly because my boys were young and we watched it together more than once.

Ronnie, one other thing I forgot to mention on the shots is, I was not shooting in the fine JPEG mode. Earlier I was testing the higher compression mode and, as usual, forgot to change it. I do not know if that made any difference or not but I think I will repeat the shots one day using both modes just to see. It would be a good test between the two modes. I mention this not to argue because as Winston said NR can cause problems and I have seen some evidence of it. I just want to be as accurate as I can about what I have done with the camera and what the camera may have done.
I went to the ocean yesterday and was lucky in catching the Coast Guard boats out practicing in the rough water. I took a lot of shots and then discovered I still had not changed the setting back. I think I will write a note on the back of my hand "check all camera settings before looking through viewfinder":-)
