Nice selection of photos. I really like the light and color in the doorway.
I'm trying to figure out what "last trekking with FZ20" means. Are you upgrading to another camera? |

Perfect thumbs Francesco- much better than a simple link.
I like the doorway and its framing. last or latest?? (Please tell us, how you want to get rid of a yellow colour cast in future.) Sven |

Sorry I meant latest...
FZ20 will be with me until a good FZ40 is available. Sven, congratulations for your thumbs on Macrophotography home page (already since a couple of weeks) http://www.macrophotography.org/index.php I managed to get a 24mm WA from a friend to use it for micro. It fits handheldonthe FZ20 lens(I have no inversion ring), but f2,8 is too narrow an aperture. IT equals +41 and captures about 1mm from less than 5cm of distance (half of the frame is vignetting black). The following is the tip of a(biro) pen. |

Sorry Francesco, but I have left macrophotography.org....
I liked your responses, but you were the only one! With my growing skills I have to reprocess and denoise all pictures. The results will be in zotos. You used F/8 with your reverse shots. There is no sense in doing this with the FZ5. I have done many tests! Try to open the aperture of the FZ and use the aperture of the reverse lens instead. Close the aperture to that point where vignetting starts and the results will be better. With 12* zoom I can close the aperture of the nikkor 50mm to F/8, having some DOF.... A have added a suggestion for fixing lenses at the end of my still living tech thread: http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=23 It is never too late to buy a cokin filter adapter! regards, Sven |

Thank you Sven
IMO Macrophotography is not useful for comments, but only to have a free space on the web. I have tried at F/2,8 on the FZ20 and it's only marginally less vignetted. The problem is that the reversed WA is F2,8. Instead no vignetting occurs with a 50mm Nikkor (also 52mm of thread) which is F/1,4 (but I could not take it at home). Next month there'll be an important photo exhibition in Rome, I hope to go and find some good used lenses. |

FZ5-FZ20
There are so many differences between these cameras. Using my takumar 28mm f/3.5 there is only 10 to 20% vignetting with 12* zoom. Vignetting disappears with 14* zoom and you can close the front aperture to f/8 without dark corners. Sven |

Sometimes smaller is better (FZ5).
But that Takumar is 52mm thread or larger? |

The takumar has a 49mm thread.
But I like my enlarging lenses better. I have just tested an EL-nikkor f/4 50mm. Less than 20% vignetting at 12*zoom, no vignetting at 14* zoom f/8. But I need the full zoom all the time. This is the reason why I own so many enlarging lenses (250 - 35mm) and a system to change them quite fast. I like the weight, the adjustable aperture/DOF and the correction - some are apochromatic, most of them have 6 lenses. Sven |
