Hi all!

Ich have my Panasonic FZ50 since last Fall and overall i am quite happy with it.
Last week i shot in a very quite environment.
When i was looking through the EVF I recognized a quietly noise coming from inside the camera. It´s like a high and constant "beeeeeeep".

First i thought the IS would be responsible for that noise, but after deactivating IS the "beeeeeep" was still there.

Does anybody know the reason for this sound? Is my Camera defect?
What´s with YOUR FZ50? Does it quietly "beeeep" too?

Thanks for your answers, Greeting from Bonn/Germany,

I've had mine a little less than a month. From the first time I turned it on I noticed what seems like the same noise. I think it is just the sound of it being on because I don't notice a change in sound regardless of what I am doing with it. Sometimes it drives me crazy but my husband says I hear way too much anyway!

Thank you, Stacy, for your Answer!

And your Cam is still working fine? So you don´t think its a kind of defect?

Anybody else here with the same experiences ?

It's been fine. I've not had any problems so far. Let's hope I'm right or else we both have problems! :) Someone else will chime in and let us know!

This is common for most of the FZ cameras.

I think it's the light meter causing the noise. I believe if you set it in the 'M' setting or put the lens cap on you'll notice it stops.

It might be something else though on the fz-50. Still probably normal.
