Are you sure you can just use one for parts just like that? I mean, aren't you even considering sending your camera to an authorized repair shop? I'm not an expert in the field but I imagine it's just not that simple removing and adding parts to your own fancy.
Just a thought... How much do Pana charge for a new LCD and labour? Just curious... |

pana wants to charge 109 for the lcd plus shipping and then it will at least be 20+ for labor. the lcd should plug in to the main board of the camera with a simple pin ribon or something. i could probably do it myself, but would send it to a dealer just so i dont scrwer anything up to badly. What the shit is, is that its only the piece of glass that is broken, the actual screen is intact, so the camera still works fine. The problem is that the piece of glass is attached to the screen and cannot be replaced independantly of the lcd pannel. I would just let it go, but i like to take my camera snowboarding and such, and i am worried about moisture getting into the camera more easily through the broken glass.

130$ for an LCD and labour is way expensive.
Good luck with finding a camera for parts. |

whast wrong with that? ive done it twice with the broken screen. One time i used a plastic bag to protect it, like a ziplock. i cut a hole out of the bottom and taped the lense in there. it worked pretty well.
