I've only been in this forum for a couple of weeks but am VERY impressed with the assistance given by others & the very quality of photography being shown.

I note some people are using Nikon 6T (which I gather are add-on lenses).

I would appreciate hearing some advice regarding the different add-on macro lenses available for the FZ30, because I know nothing about them, having just moved into digital from using Nikon 35mm (F2 & Nikkormat) where I used some great lenses.

Look into the Raynox M150 and M250 closeup lenses.

I own the less powerfulM150, which is still pretty darn powerful. The difference using these Raynox lenses vs. me using my DSLR and an extension tube with a tele zoom is, the working distance is really close at every focal length with the Panny FZ camera and the M150 or M250. I can use my DSLR with a 70-300 zoom, fit an extension tube and get a closeup at 300mm fromseveral feet away with my DSLR. With the Raynox, if you get further than several inches away you can't use it, so they can be frustrating at times since you have to pick subjects you can get physically close to, but for those subjects where you can do so, it produces excellent results.

Thanks for that Greg. I had used something similar to these with my 35mm Nikons & recall that if you moved much, you were SOL. But - the results you're showing are great

I have the Nikon 6T and the Canon 500D which I stack them. Working distance is about 8" with the two stacked at full zoom, and 12-15" with the T6 alone. I like the combination very much, see below. The Raynox lenses are very nice too but a bit too powerful for me. if you buy any add-on lenses make sure they are "acromats". The quality of cheaperadd-on lenses is not very good.
