Great capture Steve, love the colors and fine detail. How fortunate to get them both in the same frame.
The background has many of the colors of these critters, maybe they thought they were camouflaged. :-) |

Nice shot Steve. That background or something simular is probably just about the onlyplace they would rest like that. I wonder if the lighter one is female?

Thanks for commenting tinosa, d-sr and Ted. They may well have thought they were hidden as they did not let me get near as close while they were in plants. I am assuming the smaller one is the male. Book doesn't help here. It says these are black and white and my camera did not change their colors much if at all. The book has a male wing with the fuller pattern of the small one. Although larger then some skippers, these were rather small and I was lucky I had my macro lenses with me while I was looking for pelicans.
