nicely done... did you use a converter, or was that just the FZ30 zoom?

converter - teleconverter, like the TCON-17 - screws onto the lens and boosts the magnification by 1.7x or whatever... useful for making that moon - or anything else you want - look even bigger.
style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"did you use the extra zoom feature at all? that's a great shot for just the 12x zoom... |

Here's a 12x zoom shot of the moon (harvest moon?) I took last September. I did some sharpening. Can I attach one of these converters to my FZ5?

Curious as to the color... low in the sky or...? The TCON17 teleconverter has short, 55mm threads and will barely screw into the stock FZ5 adapter's plasticthreads --- only ~3/4 of a turn. The easiest way that I've found to address the issue is to use sand paper on a flat, hard cover book and sand off the first section of the adapter to the point where the threads start. Then attach a 55mm UV filter to the adapter. This gives one deeper metal threads, protection for the Leica lensand the TCON17 will then thread on ~ 1-1/2 turns. You may want to read an older thread that has additional info on this issue at: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...hread=16535189 |
